Kyoto.

This has been a long time coming. We have wanted to visit the ancient capital of Japan for a very long time. It has not disappointed.Kyoto dates back to the 8th Century where it was Japan's capital until 1868. Intertwined with the modern city streets you can find temples of various size and splendor( there are over 2000 Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines) It was originally on the list for the atomic bomb but was removed due to the 'beauty of the city'. Tragically the beautiful cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima were hit. It is Kyoto's fortune that it was removed from the list ( how can people's lives be decided by a list! ) as it has kept its historical beauty and mystery. Many a time we have got lost and stumbled across a beautiful temple, garden or Geisha!

We took the Hikari bullet train to Kyoto. Its maximum speed is 300km!

This place looks really really cool. The photo of when you are "cleansing yourself" before entering the temple brings back old times. when you showed us your old photo's. I printed off your animal photos of Austrailia because Jack wanted to see them, I was also speechless at that geisha photo. It made me whisper for some reason as if I had to be quiet around her!! (freak I know) I also printed that pic off too as I love it so much. I really do hope you have an amazing time... we all miss you very much!!
love chlo xx
