Outback-Day Six
Up early after a good night camping in our swags (tough waterproof and padded sleeping bags for sleeping under the stars) A fantastic day spent first of all hiking around the Olgas, an amazing range of sandstone rock. We then visited the Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Uluru to learn more of the importance and sacred significance of the rock to the local people before taking a walk around it's base. During the walk we saw many of the sacred places, caves, rock art and features of this true wonder of the world. It seems outrageous that people are still allowed to climb onto Uluru itself (and you are asked not to) Especially as these people would not even consider walking up and down on a church alter.
