Siem Reap
Siem Reap is the gateway to Cambodia's biggest tourist attraction; Angkor Wat. As a result it has seen a big boom in recent years and there are hotels being built rapidly. The atmosphere here is very friendly interspersed with persistent Tuk- Tuk drivers. The poverty in Cambodia is clear here with many children and adults begging. Some children sell books and postcards and many of the landmine victims sell books too. This is a way for them to be self-sufficient as they receive no support from the government and due to being amputees are often refused jobs. Despite all this, the Cambodian people never fail to flash a winning smile. This place has definitely had a big impact on us both.

Street in Siem Reap

Eating at the local market. Not bad for 50p!

Market in Siem Reap

Cambodian silks, which are sold everywhere, blowing in the wind.

A range of fresh produce sold at the market. You can also buy all sorts of fried bugs if you fancy!

A Tuk-tuk driver sleeping mid-afternoon. It is very hot and humid here. The storms which often occur in the afternoon bring a little relief.

This is a sympathy note. I noticed that you did not have any comments at this point and I thought 'OOhh, Billies no-mates'. Excuse this cheek. I am just trying to feel less guilty. I think it is because we know you will be home soon, but must continue to make the effort to let you know we are all thinking of you both. We cannot keep leaving it to Chloe, can we? I am stirring myself now and find that we take this wonderful site for granted and just want to say, once again, how fantastic these pictures are and the vegetables photo makes them look so delicious. Well done both.
thinking of you.

dun du du dun chloe to the rescue!! I am here again to comment on your wicked site, I have been really busy this holiday as I said on my previous post's so I apologize! Siem reap looks like a very bustling place, I wouldn't ind being sble to eat over here for 50p, it's unheard of!!! Coincidently (cool word!!) Mrs Allen is making us do research on a country of our choice and she did an example on the smart board, and her example was thailand. She said that the tukh tukh drivers rip you off badly and are very persuasive so yeah watch out for them. (she knows this coz she lived there... I asked!)
I don't mind if i'm left to write all the comments on this site, I'll keep on following!!
love chlo
