Tokyo

We were fortunate to meet up with Kiyoshi who used to work in England with Stephen. It was great to see him and he helped us find our way around Tokyo and showed us some of the sights. Tokyo is huge and is separated by districts each one with its own distinct theme. Thanks Kiyoshi...we hope to see you again before we leave Japan. Just an additional note: You`ll see the photo to the right taken by oneself! It was stressful taking a photo of two photographers at night on a busy street in Tokyo.

We were lucky to see a parade in Tokyo. A woman in Yukata. Traditional cotton dress similar to a Kimono.

A cheeky shot at the parade.

The area of Akihabara. Famous for its electrical goods and manga.

The Imperial Palace. It is difficult to see much of the palace as the Emperor resides here. It became the home for the Imperial Court in the late 19th Century after a move from Kyoto.

The Asakusa are of Tokyo where we stayed. One of the oldest areas in Tokyo.

The Senso-ji Buddhist Temple in Asakusa. The oldest temple in Tokyo.

Girls in the area, popular for its eccentric clothes shops. At times you can see the Harajuku girls famed for their outlandish outfits. These are not Harajuku girls but they posed nicely.

WOW!!! I still want to go!! I cannot actually believe your there. Miss Ephgrave has a special jacket called a happi coat from when she was in japan at a special festival. I wear it during japanese club (saddo!) Unfortunately sam has lost interest in Japan ...why???!!! So it's just me left now. We love telling miss ephgrave your stories about when you were there, and also teaching her the Hana hana song! Tokyo looks a very busy place. But that still doesn't bother me... I am going there!!
love chlo xx

I think the man in the parade may have been taking a leaf out of Stephen and Ian's book. David, this is what you need to aspire to.
